Student Emergency Fund Request

At Mercy College, we understand that students may at times experience unexpected hardships that may have a negative impact on their studies here at the college. The Student Emergency Fund is established to help eligible students overcome unforeseen financial hardships.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Submission of this emergency application is not a guarantee of funding. Once you submit your application, a committee will review and make a final determination. Applications will be reviewed as soon as possible, but no later than five business days. You will be notified via your Mercy College email. Award amounts may vary based on the nature of the requests and available resources. Funds awarded do not require repayment.

ELIGIBILITY:
  • Current student enrolled at Mercy College.
  • Enrolled in a degree or certificate program.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Maximum eligibility, up to $1,000 during your enrollment at Mercy College.
  • Applications will be accepted beginning two weeks after the start of a semester and up to two weeks before the end of that same semester.

1. What unforeseen circumstance led to this?
2. How might this need prevent you from continuing your education?



Disclosures
Students who receive any forms of financial assistance while attending Mercy College must, by law, report these funds to Mercy College Financial Aid Department. These could include, but not limited to, student emergency funds, school-issued gift cards, outside scholarships, tuition assistance (i.e., employer reimbursement), or other payments/resources applied directly to your student account. These amounts are used to calculate the financial aid package and may replace other self-help aid sources to ensure that a student's financial aid package does not exceed the Cost of Attendance.
